Hinatsuki's power

Sorry I haven't placed the new Hinatsuki chapter up yet but I finished it today and next week I'll try to post a chapter of gabby.

"Yukiko, I feel strange. Why do I feel strange? I'm scared."
"Hinatsuki you don't have to be scared. I will stay with you and you're just feeling the pressure of the barrier between the physical world and the fairy realm. It's perfectly natural and will be gone in a few seconds."
Three seconds later Hinatsuki and Yukiko. Hinatsuki immediately noticed the feeling abate and let out a sigh. She was also mildly tempted to open her eyes now because she kept her eyes closed during the entire time across the barrier and even closed she could see the effect of the bright light but now she didn't have any of it.
"Could I open my eyes, is the horrible light gone?"
"Hinatsuki you can if you want to. The light is gone and I think you'll like what you see."
Hinatsuki opened her eyes very carefully, still afraid that the light might just be hiding or something else. It took her almost a minute to fully open her eyes and once she did she was amazed at what she saw.
Yukiko and Hinatsuki were flying above the ground that was covered by all kinds of plant life, water ways and there were other fairies as well. She could see so many of them as they flew on by. They all had wings and dressed in different colors. Some tended the plants, some flew along the water ways picking up little drops or sped across the land having the wind they created affect the plants and water. Hinatsuki looked up and saw Yukiko for the first time. She thought she looked beautiful. She had pure white long hair that flew along side her. Her skin was as white as snow and seemed to sparkle a little. She was dressed in a simple dress that was white at the top but from what she could see started to turn blue toward the bottom. Yukiko looked down at Hinatsuki and she saw that Yukiko's eyes where a brilliant blue but she thought she saw a tinge of green around the edges. Hinatsuki didn't really see that Yukiko was a little startled by what she saw when she looked her.
Yukiko started to fly faster now and stopped staring at Hinatsuki. Hinatsuki without Yukiko's eyes to fixate on looked at the area around her and noticed that they were flying to a gigantic tree coming closer and closer. She was amazed by the sheer size of it. The thing just kept getting bigger and bigger the closer they got. She had no way of comparing it to anything else to what she had already seen in her short life.
"We're almost there Hinatsuki. I have to tell you this now so you're somewhat prepared. I'm sure you've noticed that I and the other fairies have wings. Our wings are part of who we are and you have some as well but they're fledgling wings and just aren't capable of flight as they are now. The elder fairies will present the different forms of magic and technology to you and they'll choose you. Most fairies only have one of them react but in some cases another will react as well. The one that you accept first will be your family. The different families don't have much interaction unless they work together. That means I could or could not end up as a part of your life."
This made Hinatsuki scared more than anything else. She felt that without Yukiko the world or realm or whatever it was called would swallow her whole and leave nothing behind.
"What form are you," Hinatsuki asked with budding tears in her eyes.
"I'm not supposed to tell you. We aren't supposed to sway any new born fairy." Yukiko looked down and saw that Hinatsuki was about to cry and felt an overpowering need to tell but she didn't want to accidentally alter what family Hinatsuki would end up in because she knew that new born fairies might be swayed by the fairy that picked them up and end up with a form that wasn't with the fairy that picked them up or they might chose that one first and not be good at it and become resentful. On the other hand she deeply wanted to tell Hinatsuki.
"Snow, I'm from snow. It looks like a snowflake," she whispered hoping that she both heard it and didn't hear it.
"What does a snowflake look like," Yukiko heard as a whisper that was as quiet as her own while feeling an immense sense of sadness that she had affected a new born's decision. She gave in fully though and carefully described what the snowflake looked like and who would be putting the form before her.
Yukiko started to fly higher up once the tree was in full view now. She wound through branches getting closer and closer to the trunk of the tree. Hinatsuki stared upward seeing all of the branches coming off of the tree and then they came to where there destination was. The area was a flat area on the tree that could fit at least several hundred fairies but there were none on it except Hinatsuki now that Yukiko had let her down. Yukiko wasn't even standing on it she was flying above it.
Yukiko flew toward the other side of the area where a door was. She landed and knocked on the door. Shortly after it opened and Yukiko stood to the side of the door. Yukiko asked for an audience with the elder fairies and that she found a new born fairy who's name is Hinatsuki. The attendant said that the elders would come out and dismissed Yukiko. Hinatsuki though Yukiko would come back but she stayed where she was. She saw Yukiko mouth something and she thought it might be that she wasn't allowed near her. This made Hinatsuki sad but the elders started to come out carrying all of the icons for the different forms.
She tried to show no reaction to what was going on and that she knew that the snowflake was for snow and the elder fairy that was holding its icon. She thought that they would present the icons right away but instead they flew to a set of chairs that she had not seen yet. They sat down and for a long time nothing occurred. Then several balls flew around Hinatsuki and condensed it a fairy that Hinatsuki thought was the most beautiful individual she had ever seen. Her wings looked like gold and shimmered like rainbows, she wore a golden dress that fitted her perfectly and flowed with the gentle breeze that crossed the area and her hair and face looked stunning.
"Hello, you must be Hinatsuki. How are you doing," the mysterious lady asked.
"I'm okay, who are you. You're so beautiful."
The mysterious lady laughed and the said, "I'm Queen Isis. I think that you're going to be unique Hinatsuki. You have such beautiful white hair I think it puts Yukiko's to shame and your eyes are very interesting. Green in one and blue in the other so rare for a fairy. I think your wings are going to tell a lot about you. So let the icons come forth," the queen whispered to Hinatsuki and the shouted.
Instead of the elders coming forth all of the icons came into a circle around Hinatsuki as if they were controlled by the queen. Hinatsuki looked around and tried to touch some of the icons but before she touched them different things would happen. The water drop one burst, the ones associated with the technologies all at once fizzled out of existence when Hinatsuki approached one. She approached the snowflake and saw it starting to glow. She hoped this meant that it wanted her but when she went to touch it a burst of light came out and it was gone. She heard several gasps and now saw that there where several fairies on the branches of the tree. She looked around and saw that there no other icon was left.
"Choose you're first Hinatsuki. That will be your family now," Queen Isis said which made Hinatsuki wonder what she meant.
She thought that she was a snow fairy now but then saw out of the corner of her eye something behind her. She quickly turned and saw four icons before her. She saw the snowflake and three others that she didn't know what they were. One looked like some red leaf that slowly morphed and crackled, the other reminded her of her birth the one on the right next to the snowflake was dark and reminded her of the time before the bright light when she was born, and the last which was next to the red leaf that moved was a bright light. Her hand involuntarily moved toward and touched one of the icons and she gasped. She looked at all of the remain icons and realized that she had touched the snowflake. She smiled and felt a desire to let her body decide for her. She closed her eyes and moved back and raised her hand. Once again her body moved on its own and her hand reached out to the dark ball that was floating next to the snowflake, her hand continued to move on its own and touched the bright light ball next and finished with the red leaf that moved. When she had touched all of the icons she opened her eyes and saw the four icons swirling around her and all of the fairies watched intently.
Hinatsuki tried to look at what the icons were doing and did not notice the water that was filling up grooves in the area around her. The water was all flowing to several bar like areas in the design and starting to fill them with water. Hinatsuki was to intent on looking where the icons moved and did not see that the water was building upward by the powers of the water fairies and wind fairies. She somewhat noticed when they started to freeze over and create mirrors that showed her back to her. She looked at the mirror and moved her body and saw that the mirrors would show her back no matter where she was looking. The icons stopped shortly after and arranged themselves in the order she touched them.
They slowly entered her starting with the snowflake. When the snowflake entered the center of her back the top half of her wings formed. They were long and came out to points. The wings had a curved bottom near her body but the top portion was a straight line with the bottom half curving up to a point. She noticed that only the wings had a design on them. The design seemed to start at the point and went down in spirals and circles with like tiny dots sprinkled in. She was about to try and move her wings when she saw the dark ball start moving and she stopped.
The ball seemed to take a longer time than the snowflake to move but once it touched her back it quickly entered her. She didn't grow a bottom set of wings but the ones on top started to darken at the edges and the pattern on them started to have an ethereal look to them and the areas between the pattern started to have a small luminosity.
She was to fascinated by the effect the dark ball had on them and did not see that the light ball was already moving and the red moving and shifting leaf shortly after. The ball entered and she saw the bottom set of her wings develop but her surprise was how almost immediately after the last of the icons entered. She stood before the mirror looking over her wings. The bottom set looked vastly different from the top. They could be described almost like a candle flame, with a small body near her body going out to a point at the bottom. The design in it was also very different, the top set of wings could be seen as snowflakes falling during an aurora catching the light from it and making a multitude of different colors. The bottom set had a design that looked like bursts of light spreading out from near her body and going toward the top growing smaller as well. They shimmered like her top wings but they weren't the same color instead they had reds, oranges, ad yellows near the tip of and blue near the bottom. The designs were similar the bursts near the top sparkled in red and orange and yellow and gradually went into blues at the bottom.
The mirrors soon lost focus and Hinatsuki saw that they had started to melt. She looked around and saw the awed faces of all of the fairies. She started to flutter her wings to try them out and people started to gasp. Hinatsuki wondered why and saw that her wings had a glow to them that seemed to spread out when she flutter them.
"Congratulations Hinatsuki you are now a part of the Snow Fairy family. I'm sure you are wondering what has just happened and a multitude of other questions. I and all of the other fairies will explain but first would you like to meet some of your family?"
"Yes, oh yes I would love to meet those who will be part of my family," Hinatsuki shouted with tears in her eyes.
Queen Isis waved her hand and several fairies that physically looked like Yukiko flew down to Hinatsuki and hugged her. They gave various greetings, said why Snow Fairies are the best and in general rose Hinatsuki's spirit. They had all left when the elder fairy for all of the Snow Fairies rose up.
Yukiko had briefly described him when she flew Hinatsuki to the Fairy Glen and she had seen him when he came out with the other elder fairies but she only now started to intently look at him. He was big, at least twice as tall as her and had wings that were long and looked like an big X across his back. They looked like her top ones but the design from what she could see looked like a multitude of different sized snowflakes spreading across them. They didn't shimmer or sparkle but she thought they were beautiful. As he got closure she saw that he wore a tight shirts and pants made out of a thick cloth and not like what Yukiko or the queen wore.
"You are an amazing young fairy Hinatsuki. I am glad that you could join our family but I'm sure you want some answers to the questions in your head right," the Snow elder asked.
Hinatsuki shook her head yes because she was stunned by how gentle his voice was.
"Were do you want to start? We can start at any place."
"Why was it so dark and what was the blinding light."
"What do you mean. Was it dark when you were born. Was the darkness the first thing that you saw and then a bright light."
"Yes and then I fell into white stuff."
Everyone gasped at this and started whispering about how Queen Isis was right that Hinatsuki would be unique. Queen Isis cleared her throat and all of the fairies stopped and looked at Hinatsuki.
"I think I can answer this Albion," the queen said to the Snow elder, " Hinatsuki you aren't like most fairies that come to be. Most fairies are born from the first laugh of a human baby or they used to be human children. In your case neither occurred and instead you were born most likely from the first case but before you could crossover an eclipse happened and the energy from that gave birth to you. You are tied to the sun and moon. That is why the snow, darkness, light and fire forms reacted to you so strongly. They represent the moon and sun. It can explain several other things as well."
"Yes, Hinatsuki you were born in a time that no fairy would be in Earth or the physical world or mainland whichever you feel is the most appropriate. You most have been in the air as a baby's first laugh and the eclipse occurred and fell because of the fact as a new born you have no wings."
"Thank you for explaining that but now what am I and what is this place?"
"This is tree is the Fairy Glen or the dust tree as it is sometimes called. We are standing on one of several platforms on the tree that have different roles. This one is the platform of knowledge and strengths. In a broader scope this entire area is the fairy world. We are located on what humans would call an island but it is larger than what they would actually call an island. We have made this land our home and we share it with a multitude of other animals, plants, and beings," Albion said while Hinatsuki looked dumbfounded at all of the information.
"May I tell her Lord Albion. I think a history lesson on us might just scare her away," Hinatsuki heard from right behind her and finally noticed that Yukiko had been behind.
"Of course, of course I should have realized that she is still a new born and I tend to rabble on. You may take over."
"Hinatsuki, we are all fairies. In your case you are born from an extraordinary event called an eclipse. The eclipse of the moon over the sun infused your body with its own energy which comes from the moon's and sun's own energy. You body chose to be a Snow Fairy. Snow Fairies are responsible for creating snow and bringing winter to Earth in certain regions. I was going to create a new blanket of snow on a mountain near you when I heard your cry. You'll learn all about your powers here and at our school."
"That is right. One of the jobs we have as elder fairies is to teach you about your powers and how to use them or at least guide you to use them wisely. I am the elder of the Darkness Fairies, Tenebrea and I will be instructing you in both using your darkness energy and good practices of your powers along with others that will be in my class along side you. Do you have any remaining questions," Tenebrea declared in a forceful voice that left Hinatsuki slightly unnerved. Hinatsuki shook her head no with a startled look on her face.
Lord Albion patted Hinatsuki's shoulders and then announced in a booming voice,"Since our newest family member has no questions left I say the celebration has now come to an end and we, that is those of her family should show her new home."
After Lord Albion's declaration all of the snow fairies flew down to Hinatsuki and the others flew of in other directions. Yukiko went in front of Hinatsuki and told her that she and the other snow fairies will show her how to fly.
